DANGEROUS

“This sign stands on an old country road a few miles from my house. Back when I could run, I used to pass by it without much thought. Until one day, when I stopped and ran my hands over the bullet holes. I noticed it was partially out of the ground from someone hitting it at a high rate of speed.
It stuck with me—the image of that warning sign standing there, full of bullet holes and badly bent. Something was deeply off, and I could feel it.
I often wonder how many warning signs we've run past, disrespected or explained away.
These are still strange times. Slow down. Pay attention.”
